Constant Rain = Productivity

Since May was wet and cold, I was inclined to stay inside. And because I had a tote heaping full, as in the lid no longer fits full, of greens and purple/plum shades of fabric, I decided it would be a grand idea to make "a" quilt. I liked Bonnie Hunter's Scrappy Mountains Majesties pattern, and so I opted to try it out. I adjusted the pattern to 9 1/2 inch squares instead of 8 1/2 inches, but I still made the number of blocks required for one quilt. This is how I chose to put it together, though I wish now I would have mixed them up a bit.

Because I made more blocks than I needed for one quilt, and because it was still raining, I decided to make another quilt. That would make sense, right? This is what came out of that decision.

About the time I started the second quilt, I thought it would be fun to do a leaders/enders project. I chose to cut 2 inch strips, and then subcut them to make four patches. I had a box at the ready to stash them away for the summer. But ... it was still rainy and cool. What to do?

This four patch quilt emerged from my machine. But ... I again made too many blocks, and it WAS still rainy and cool. I thought to put those blocks to good use.

And you know what? I still had a few blocks too many, so I set to work on number 5.

And by then, it was still wet and a little cool, but I really had to get back to reality!

I solved the problem of the tote too full, although I still have enough for another quilt or two, but the lid does fit very well now!!
